I have a atwood LP gas alarm. The red light is staying on but no alarm is going off. I hit the test button and nothing happens. I suspect the unit is dirty and a spider crawled out when I took the cover off. Can I clean it with electronic spray cleaner? Anyone have any ideas?
If you can't get it to sound off in a test after cleaning it, I'd siuggest replacing it. We had the opposite problem with ours...we couldn't shut it up...kept going in to "fault" mode (yellow light). Finally had to have it replaced. They said it had a faulty wire, as well, therefore the fault signal (which is supposed to indicate low power supply).
A Can of "Compressed Air" is usually Propane/Butane. It used to be Freon until it put a hole in the ozone layer. Spray some one the alarm. If it does not go off it needs replacing.
