Loss of current to Fridge

Hmmmmm. Another mystery to solve. I recently removed the non operational oven from our airstream and replaced it with a microwave. I used the electrical outlet that is accessible through the exterior hatch behind the fridge.(it was a dual outlet box) Now I have no electricity to the refrigerator. No control panel lights. No interior light when door is open. A couple of years ago I replaced the main board with a MICRO P-711 when it quit working on electric but worked on gas. Has worked great till this last trip. I think I may have jiggled something loose. I have checked all of the fuses. They are still good. I checked for 110 from the plug in and it measures about 115 volts. I know their is a test procedure for each connection, but before I go into it with the multimeter, it seems like someone may have experienced the same thing. Any suggestions?

Is that outlet on a GCFI circuit? I know the outlet to the frig on our unit is ... because it's located near to the outside 110 outlet.

No. I don't think GCFI was in common use when our AS was built.

Just musing, but isn't the microwave supposed to share the same circuit as the roof air conditioner? In my Excella there is a switch in one of the cupboards to select a/c versus m/w.

I don't have a diagram handy, but doesn't the 110V provide only power to the electric heating element for the fridge? I think the board and lights get there power from the battery (12V). It sounds like you may be missing the 12V over there..

I have disassembled things, the board cover and "eyebrow," checked fuses (on the refrigerators board and on the dc fuse panel) and everything I can find and still no 12 volt to the fridge. I am beginning to think that when I took out the old oven and replaced it with a microwave that I might have dislodged a connection. Any idea where the 12 volt enters the fridge compartment (space, hole, cavity, whatever)? or which fuse on the dc fuse panel would be for the fridge? I keep reading the refrigerator handbook, the Dinosaur board instructions and other stuff and just can not pin it down.

The original fridge in your trailer did not need 12 volts, so there would have not been a line to it from the factory. When it was replaced with a more modern fridge the 12 volt line would have been added. I would look at 12 volt devices that are close by and easy to run a line from. The exhaust fan would be over the original stove and located next to the fridge on your trailer. That is one place to look.

Interesting thought. I will have to check. I have a lights and a 12vt hookup fo a Television near by. In fact when I took out the old oven, I "cleaned up" up some of the wiring in that area. May have overdone that! Thanks bill b.

Just back from a couple of days on the road in the streamer. Saw a new classic at the park in Shamrock. Boy are they nice. Will be back to working on our fridge tomorrow.

I tried to post the photo to the forum and it wouldn't upload and I lost the text. So I tried to send it as a personal message. I attached a picture of the connections that are at the 12 volt connections behind the television, next to the refrigerator. So here it is verbal, not visual: 1. Big red wire is hot. 2. Big white wire with clip is not hot. 3. A gray wire sheath has a black wire and white wire inside. (I think this one goes to the 12volt part of the fridge.) So if I hook the big hot red wire to the black or white inside the gray sheath and the big white wire to the other one, it should send 12 volt to the fridge, right? Did they change the procedure for posting photos?
any info would help

Thanks all. Now it works. It was the 12 volt to the refrigerator alright. I just hooked the 12volt wires for the fridge back up to the 12 volt at the cig. lighter/ television 12 volt hookup and taaa daa! it works.
