Looking for Local Specialist for massive renovation - S.F. Bay Area

Hi All!

This is my first post on Airstream forums. (The first of many, many to come i'm sure).

So we are starting a business called Nomads Kitchen in San Francisco, CA. The general concept is, we are going to take an approx. 23 ft. Airstream Trailer and convert it into a commercial kitchen - a "true" roving restaurant. We will be preparing locally sourced, seasonally relevant, gourmet, street cuisine.

So, my question is, does anyone know of a local specialist who can help us with the renovation. It's possible we are going to have to re-enforce the frame, and actually make a whole new undercarriage/flooring to withstand the weight. We definitely want to buff the trailer, and will be making modifications to the exterior as well as gutting the entire thing.

Any help is much appreciated.

Customizing a A/S

Have you spoken with Andy R. at Inland RV. They are located in Corona, Ca (I believe) and are well known as an Airstream dealer that can customize Airstream trailers for specific needs. You can check out the website at InlandRV.com. I am sure Andy can help you with the items you need to do to modify the trailer to fit your new venture. Good Luck and Happy Trails, Ed

I'd suggest you check with Area 63 in Orange County. Ask for Uwe (It's pronounced Uva.) and Inland RV. Ask for Andy.

Both have websites and are members here so you can use the search function to read from them and about them.
I'd rather be boon docking in the desert.

I gonna bet that you would be better off financially and product wise by contacting Airstream Inc. first. They may not be interested, but they might sell a shell to an authorized shop.

Just a thought.

Try checking out C & G Trailer in LA, when I was there last year they told me they got requests to convert AS trailers for all sorts of things, including a customer from China who wanted a traveling, how should I put it, vehicle for women to exchange fun for money, and then have it shipped back there.... They also were able to get my frig and oven running.

There are others.....

Maybe consider this.....
There are others already done and for sale.
One is on our classifieds right now.
One, from Austin, TX was there a couple weeks ago.
These two were (are) for Sale now...in the South East.
I hope your business plan is better than theirs was.

I have a 1976 31 footer that may be for sale in the near future that could be used just for this purpose once it is gutted and the necessary things added for the purpose intended.
