Looking for Austin inspector/handyman

Hi all,
The husband and I just got ourselves a 1970 31' sovereign. We are in south Austin and looking for someone local that can help us with inspection and repair. We are both handy, but don't know the first thing about these trailers and it'd be great to not make a bunch of mistakes that can be avoided and to have a better idea what we need to address from the get go. Basically we're looking for someone local to adopt some airstream newbies. We will also pelt them with money, home-brew and fluffy dogs.
Robyn

Sometimes you gotta bump your thread to get it back on top. Lots of Austin folks here, they must have missed it.

Thanks for taking pity on my lonely thread
I was able to get a referral from a local guy with an airstream for someone named Todd in New Braunfels who does repairs. I'm hoping to get him by within the next week. His availability is pretty limited so if anyone has any other recommendations I'd still appreciate it. We are starting some interior work today and I'm anxious for someone with a solid knowledge base to give everything an overview so we can triage repairs.

Hi, we're off manchaca near William cannon. We have two papillons, a tripod pit mix and an overfed cat. Are you south as well?

Stay away from Kasey Balwin and if he is running an alias in Liberty Hills. PM me if you want to hear about several of his rip off exploits.

Hi, i have a 1959 TradeWind that I'm working on and I'm definitely a newbie! I live North of Austin in the Cedar Park area and I'm interested in finding someone with Airstream knowledge to help me with a few things too. So far, I've just been redoing the existing woodwork, but I'd like to find someone who can remove the toilet and seal the blackwater tank opening so we can replace with a composting unit. I'll be following along on this thread with fingers crossed!

Always willing to help out with some free advice.
Doing work would be a different issue and would depend on my availability.
I am at 183 and Duval and usually working on 1 of my Airstreams on Weekends.
Give me a shout.

Thanks Peter! We'd love to come see what you're working on one of these days. We were able to get a once over on our trailer and there were no major surprises other than what we had already surmised with our limited knowledge. The dreaded black water tank may not be holding and we are assessing today whether we are going to need to replace it. PO replaced plumbing with pvc, so we are going to change that out to pex. We also have some separation at rear bumper, but it's not major where it has to be tended to right this minute. Bathroom floor is solid enough for the time being. I'm going to paint bathroom with marine paint to spiff it up, and then at some point when we are ready to tear it up and redo, we'll tend to the separation. For the time being the main thing is to get it where we can live it it for a few months while we remodel our house.

There's another vintage Airstream shop on Hwy 281 just north of Johnson City. Owner is Sean. It's just north of the river on the east side of the road. Went by there several months ago to look at an old Airstream motorhome. I'm on the road and don't have his number but can track it down if you want to pursue it as an option.
