In 2004 My, wife, son and I rented a camper and traveled around Europe for a year. We were impressed with the caravan awning tent. We saw its use throughout Europe. It was a tent that 'zipped' to the side of a trailer. The tent usually ran the length of the trailer. My son has graduated and left home. Now my wife and I want to travel around the U.S. We are going to buy an Airstream. I would love to be able to attach an "caravan awning tent" to it! Does anyone know if it is being done here in the United States? If so, by who?
Check out the Zip Dee awning website. They offer an outsided screened room, but I think the cost is over $1,000. Such an awning room would be great if campiong in one spot for weeks, but I wouldn't want to put one up and take it back down for just a weekend or for a few days of camping. In any case, google zip dee awnings.
