Light Scratch Repair

Hello Everyone!

After ten years of camping in huge 5th wheels we finally bought our dream camper and couldn't be happier.

The unit is only 2 years old and looks to have been only lightly used. Only issues are several light scratches on the exterior from what looks like tree branch encounters.

Any ideas on repair?

I have the same issue on my newly purchased 2012. Bought a clay towel, am planning on thoroughly washing the trailer and then going over with it. Then Walbernizing. Not sure if that will do it.
Will wait for others to chime in. Congrats on the purchase! I'm very excited for my first season with mine.

I have some marks on the back on my trailer, I think from the cleaning that happened at the local dealer. I am pretty peeved.. looks like they were made by the head of broom scratching the skin... I have 5-6 areas back there on one panel.. I will be letting the dealer know...

Anyway.

My 2015 has a clear coat on the aluminum, so in theory it can be treated like a modern car's paint finish.. I bought a mild cutting compound as the scratches are very shallow and I will work a small part of the area to see how it looks.

Any "cutting compound" works by removing the clear coat from the surrounding arounds to level out the scratch so it is visually more appealing. So you are removing more of the protective layer. You may not be comfortable doing this..


Once a cutting compound has been used it is important to seal the finish. In my case a modern wax substitute will be used.

If I find the scuffs are deeper then I first though, then I will ask the dealer to replace the panel...

Not used those products before but heard good things from many people...
