Lifting the shell on 72 sovereign soon

Hi, my wife and I will be lifting the shell on our 72 soon and are about to make a run to Home Depot for supplies, like wood, cinderblocks etc.. My father in law has a crane that we will be using to lift the shell off so no need for gantries or anything of that nature. What I would like to ask is for advice on how to support/lift the shell. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks again!

You will find many knowledgeable people here who have done this. I did mine with gantries (which are nice--used them to flip and work on the frame) but the important thing is to run timber along the ceiling, spanning enough of the ribs for good, solid, support.

Good luck! A crane sound nice. I used the chain hoist method. It worked well.

Hope someone chimes in on best-effort wooden beam to bridge between to roof vent openings to use as a lift point on your 31', I did not use that method...

My every fifth Sunday project just saw me button up the wheel wells last weekend - when landing the shell back on the rebuilt frame/floor one must have a mechanism to 'stretch' the shell to get wheel well skirts 'taut', where the ribs sit/gouge into the flooring 'double-C-channel' provides extreme friction and it's easy <cough> to bolt things down too fast <cough>...

Thanks for your advice. Now seeing the rear end my wife wants me to rebuild a whole new frame/trailer.. I have a welding machine and am certified. Now to figure out what would be best!

Really no need to build a new traIler. Fix what's there and move on. Show the wife pictures of sand blasted, repaired, painted frames she should be good. Although happy wife happy life rule may over take logic here😜

And there is that itch in me to feel safe that we will be towing a new trailer. Who knows which way we will go

Don't forget to tie that thing down to the ground. I used 4 of those dog run screws. They hold well since the screw really bites into a lot of ground. Then straps from those to the frame or 2x you have attached to the frame.
Hate to se a surprise wind gust start a whole new project.
