Leak at shower faucet - see photo

I have a 2012 19’ flying cloud. The current issue is a leak between the shower faucet and shower head. I can only see the leak when the shower faucet is on and the head is off. The water looks like it is coming from the area of the band that you can see in pic. Any suggestion on how to get access to fix.

I ended up removing wall next to toilet without much trouble.

I've got a leak that is apparent in our 19' Bambi (2008) only when the shower is on. So I believe the leak is from the supply at the valve to the outlet. Could you please explain how you took off the wall? Once I can get access, I'm confident I can fix the plumbing issue. With thanks, Matt

Not the best pic but it shows the wall that I had to remove. It goes all the way to the floor. Most of the screws were in the shower area, heads covered with white caps. I cut the caulk before I took the wall out. I ended up taking the shower door out with the wall, you may not need to do that.

You'll need a cutter like one of these https://www.homedepot.com/s/pex%2520cutter?NCNI-5.


If you want the easiest fix, a 90" Sea Tech connection that just pushes on. Why they don't leak, I don't know, because it just seems too easy. But I've done two repairs without a single problem.

Your comment is helpful. I think it might be hard to get the pex tool in the small space—especially in the initial open tool position. Your slip on idea is a winner. In Waterloo, Ontario most places carry the Sharkbite brand.
Next is how to resolve making sure the whole contraption once put together doesn’t want to continually fall out of the hole in the shower. I think I have seen pictures where the housing is shimmed from behind with heavy caulking. But I’m looking for a more elegant and vibration proof solution.

Thanks everyone for this info exchange. I have a similar leak (on a 2005 25’ Safari) and will need to go in for a repair and wasn’t thinking sharkbites but having used them and the other brand (of same type fitting) Lowe’s carries for a fairly involved solar water retrofit (on the home) I can attest to how easy they are to use. I also agree... seems like they should leak but never have...So much so I ended up removing brass/pipe doped fittings.

Thanks for all of this info. I have a 2012 16' Sport Bambi with a similar problem. I have two areas of dripping on the ground under the wet bath when I turn on the cold or hot water in the shower. Could it be the connection to the H&C knobs? Thanks for your thoughts. John
