Labeling conventions

Wow there are a lot of choices regarding where a post should be made.

Just as overwhelming is the number of labels that Airstream has used. I currently own two.

The new one is a 2010 27FB Classic Limited. I just noticed the word Limited today. What does that designate?

My old one is a 28 ft Ambassador Land Yacht International. Is there a guide somewhere to what those three labels mean?

Thanks
Brad

Limited usually means hickory cabinets instead of oak - at least it did.

What you have is a new one and a vintage one. The naming can be confusing, especially because the old and new conventions are different. See if this helps:

New
2010 = year built
27FB = 27' long w/a Front Bedroom
Classic Limited = the trim package. Hickory cabinets, fully riveted windows, etc

Old
19?? = Year, you don't say...w/VIN # it can be deciphered if you don't know
28' Ambassador = Length of trailer - the different lengths & layouts had different names Ambassador was used from about 1959 - 1969 for the 28' trailers - in 1970 it changed to 29'
Land Yacht = they were all Land Yachts then
International = Trim package. Some extras were included

Hope this helps ~

Shari

I will have to look around to see what less-than-fully-riveted-windows look like.

The vintage trailer is a 1977, retired about three weeks ago.

Thanks for the information.
