Keeping it New

I've had the good fortune of getting an '09 Flying Cloud and now want to make sure I keep it looking good. What's the shortlist (maintenance) for keeping the skin clean? I haven't moved it around much so far (Calif.) but expect to pick up bugs, pollen, etc. and want to learn how to keep it looking new. Thanks for the advice.

Well you're about the first person that has posted on here that he bought 2009 Flying Cloud. Please let us know when when the first filiform corrosion shows up. And by the way there is no cure - and it is not covered by the warranty.

Congratulations USA448! Isn't it exciting to have one of these beauties to take you into adventure? We have had our "formerly known as a Safari LS SE" for almost 2 years, and so far, not a sign of filiform corrosion. So it may or may not happen. Don't let fretting about the possibility dampen your pleasure, although it is a very real and serious issue.
What interior did you get? Post some pictures!
As far as keeping it new is concerned: Will you be storing it inside or out? Ours is in it's own garage, and we wash it down after every trip. It gets an occasional waxing and detailing, and so far all is good and it still has a nice new look. And it's shiny!
And we love it!
Have fun.

Congrats on your new AS! janetb hit the nail on the head. I've found it to be pretty easy so far with just routine washing and a coat of Walbernize once a year
