Just purchased '73 Sovereign here are my pics!

I purchased this trailer today!! Seems to be in pretty good condition. I did find two small areas of floor rot that will need to be fixed. One is right in front of the front door. And the other is in the very back right corner. Both are about 6" square.
The exterior seems to be in great condition and the awning is still in place. I am planing a restore on the trailer so I know I will have lots of questions in the future. Here are some pics that I took today.

Congrads Again, loved the photos. I left you a message on your first post. Good luck on any repairs. Your trailer version differs slightly from mine, but your bringing back old memories of my rebuild, LOLOL......

Looking good...!

Did you get it home yet? Lots to check if you intend to tow it...

Also, have a look at this article about axles. There's a simple test to check if yours are OK.

The Dura-Torque Axle

Haven't gotten it home yet. First thing on my list is to purchase new tires. I think the tires that are on it are original to the trailer. They are a 700-15 size(whatever that means). I need to see how that translates into today's tire size.
I am super excited about owning this trailer... But also overwhelmed to know how much work and money it's going to take to restore it.
Thank you for the axle link. I will check it out before I tow it home.

Congrats on the new old trailer. Couple of thoughts though, that hitch on the rear bumper is worrisome. That is a long trailer to begin with, it doesnt need anything hanging off the bumper to cause the rear to separate. If you also found rot in one spot on the back, from my experiences with a same year trailer there is probably more than that under spots you just cant see. What are you thinking about in terms of a restore?

I think it is well past time to test the axles, 40 years old and been setting for a long time.

I see a trailer hitch on the rear bumper. I wonder what they pulled behind the trailer. Check the frame and signs of rear end separation. When you get it home, take your time, start with the major things that will get the trailer road ready again. Replace the axles with new hubs and brakes and shocks, upgrade to 16" wheels and tires, make frame and floor repairs before starting on the fun stuff.

Lot of information here on all these projects. Good luck and keep us posted.
