Jack it up

Newbie question. 23' 1972 dual axle Safari. I have rot in the sub floor in the back, and we're completely remodeling. I need to drop the belly pan, but the axles are preventing me from sliding it out. Question: is there a way to get the pan out without dropping the axles?

Cut it.

Or if you're sure all the damage is at just one end, just let that end down and roll it back.

Thanks for the reply. I was a bit unclear, I want to put grey ranks into the open bays above the axles as well. The subfloor is in good shape so hoping to not have to remove it as well.

Is your belly pan one solid piece, or is it two long strips? My 68 had two long stretches from nose to tail. If you are dropping the entire pan, you can unrivet everything, slide the two panels in to the center over lapping each other. And then pull the whole thing out over top your axles. The edges will snag and catch on things. I did it all by myself. Two people would be way easier.

if you want to re use the belly pan you will need to loosen the axles so they drop down enough to slide the metal out
