Is it just our trailer and service recommendation

We have a brand new 2016 International Serenity and have had our share of "issues":

-front door doesn’t seal correctly (after being adjusted three times)
-sensor switch on the furnace was bad
-almost every LED light has burned out
-stereo speaker (right side) went out
-vent fan continues to go off when overheated
-rivet not sealed in bedroom which caused a leak
-TV speaker was blown

We are curious, is it just our trailer or do other owners have issues as well?

Also, we have not had the best of luck with the service department at two Airstream dealerships. Does anyone have any recommendations for excellent service-we are currently in Utah and heading west to northern California/Oregon area.

kcox4434 - You are about 60 miles from Jackson Center (Airstream Factory Service). Call them (937) 596-6111 and book an appointment.

We are very happy with Airstream NW. We use the Seattle location for our service but I believe they have locations in OR, CA and Idaho. Make sure to book ahead.

That's terrible ! You save and spend your hard earned cash and believe you are purchasing a superior product and all the gremlins come out...Totally not acceptable! A factory rep should be notified either by you or the dealer. two cents worth.

My recommendation,,,,,,SELL it and buy an old AS from the 70's that has been refurbished! I have a 1978 and its much better built then the newer ones!

No it's not just your trailer. It seems all new trailers have some issues which is why we have a two year warranty break-in period. I had the same problem with my door as well. Looks like they really screwed up on wiring you trailer.

Since you're still under warranty I would recommend giving Airstream a call to recommend a service center that's on your way to your destination.

I second Airstream Adventures Northwest to address your issues. We are very happy with their Portland location and suspect they are as good at the Idaho and Seattle locations. Call for an appointment as this is a busy time for all RV dealers. We had some warranty repairs, try not to get frustrated as once all is working you will enjoy your AS. I had many issues- 60+ item punch list.
The problems are detailed on other threads.
After a trip to Jackson Center all is well.
Jackson Center is the best service center and they bend over backwards to make the customer happy.
They repaired all issues to better than new.
It has been nearly 2 years now and I have had no further issues other than blown light bulbs and tread separation on 3 Goodyear Marathons, which were replaced with 16" wheels and LT truck tires.

There was a bad batch of LED puck lights. Depending upon when your trailer was built and when they worked their way through that batch or got rid of all of that particular part number, this may be your problem. I have no idea how many trailers may have been affected.

Two months after we took delivery of our 2016 International Signature, the LEDs started going out. Sometimes it was just 3 or 6 of the 9 LEDs in each puck that went out, sometimes it was the entire light, and sometimes they just got progressively dimmer until they were gone.

From the time we notified the local service facility of the widespread LED failure until the date every last puck light in the trailer was finally replaced, two months had passed. We were down to 7 unaffected light pucks by the time they were replaced. The remaining 24 were either partially or completely out.

Have the service facility pull one of the light pucks for the part number, so that they can call Airstream's parts department. If that's your problem it will probably save a lot of time. I don't want anyone else to have to wait two months!

We also had a bunch of annoying issues, including a problem with entry door fit, with our new 2014 Airstream International Signature. After two years of warranty work, primarily done at Airstream Adventures Northwest in Seattle, we're quite happy at the moment.

Thank goodness we live within an hour of our dealer. Otherwise we would have been quite upset by this experience.

Whenever I hear this sort of thing it sure puts me off thinking about buying a new RV. We bought ours about three years old. Perhaps the first owner had to go through this sort of thing.

Not saying it has been trouble free since we bought it, but really, relatively few and minor issues over about 8 years of use and around 37,000 miles of travel.

Other than routine things such as batteries and tires, about all I can think of has been a couple of minor water leaks - hopefully now fixed, a problem with the AC due to a bad thermostat connection, and a defective thermostat on the HW heater.

Lucky enough to have been able to fix all en route without having to resort to an RV dealer, so I really cannot complain.

I did make a few changes such as a switch to 16" wheels and Michelin LT's and changed the skylights for Maxims, but these were just personal choices I made.

Airstream NW

We just had a problem after leaving Portland OR on a trip to the east coast. We called the Caldwell ID location and they had us on the road in about 2 hrs. Call 208 4545417 ask for Aaron Knesal the service manager. If you have past them and are on the way to Portland the Gladstone location is also very good. 503 4963162 Laura is the service manager. We purchase from that location and have had good service.
