Interior skin removal

Good morning all, On this beautiful Saturday I had the silly idea that it would be a good time to start the interior skin removal on 1980 Caravelle. Center ceiling strip came out fairly easy, but I am stuck on the next section above the door, as I cannot get it to budge out of the door trim. Several posts/blogs state that they did not have to remove the door trim...any helpful hints?

Also, is it ok to leave a/c unit on top and remove interior skins...I'm going to add bracing to support for floor removal per Malconium's post, but anything else needed?

Thank you!

I removed the door trim on my '73. Don't know how similar the designs are, but for me, removing the door trim was required, and not a big deal.

good luck!

It is out!

Thank you Belegedhel - I was hesitant to remove the trim, because...you know it is a slippery slope and I'm already doing a lot more than I originally anticipated. There were 4 rivets holding that piece of interior skin, so I would have never got it off without removing the trim and would have blown my back out trying. Per some other posts, a paint scraper was the perfect tool to pull the trim out enough to get a pry bar in there. Thank you again!

Photo Police

Hold it right there - you've been caught red handed posting a renovation thread w/out posting related photographs . . . this is a serious offense! Please comply.

(pretty please)

Interior skin removal

Mark, No police - pls...already had a visit from fire dept this week (not my fault...well aside from the fact I brought the teenager involved into the world). So here is photo of trim/frame. You can see the bolts holding the door hinges.

ID:	263333. The toilet was right above that hole and with the rot at right we are lucky no one fell thru the floor. So to remove this one section of floor it seems like I have to disassemble the entire trailer. The good news is that it needs a good cleaning.
