inside bottom door aluminum off

The three rivets holding the angled aluminum piece on the inside of the bottom of the door frame broke off. Should I order a rivet tool and re-rivet it or get some flathead stainless metal screws and use them to re attach it. Any ideas?

You own an Airstream. You should own a pop rivet tool. Make sure they're aluminum rivets.

And double check to be sure the "mandrel"** is also aluminum. They make rivets that have an aluminum outside part and a steel mandrel--bad news where the steel gets wet and eventually leaves rust streaks. I have been known to screw that up.

Hint" the steel mandrels are usually black. The ones you want are aluminum color...

** The 'mandrel' is the pointy, nail-looking thing in the center of a new pop rivet. It's the part you stick into the pop rivet tool that then expands the outer part of the rivet, then breaks off with a "pop" (hence the name of the rivets...)

went to Home depot to get a rivet gun and the bright young man helping me asked what I wanted it for ? I told him to pop rivets in . He looked shocked and said you want an actual pop riveter?

Make sure they are "100%" aluminum rivets. Most you find in the hardware stores are aluminum rivets with a metal stem. Those are impossible to drill out later on if need be.
