Make yerself one of these. 2x10's or 2x12's cut to a 45 degree angle and screwed together three high. Works well on dual axle trailers. Also can be used under the tongue jack if needed. Kinda heavy but cheap and easy. Made it from wood laying around in the garage.

I have 16's and have used Lynx blocks many times without any problem as mentioned.I lay down 3 then 2 on top and finally 1 in the middle.6 total

I would not put a jack under a axle as you will definitely bend the axle.

The Trailer Aid makes it simple and easy to change a tire. Summer of 2014 I had a blow-out on the 401 easy of Toronto. I pulled over and the whole job of changing the tire took less than 15 minutes. Got to the next rest area and fired up the generator and compressor and topped up the changed tire. 3 months later got rid of the 15" ST tires and went to 16" LTX as part of replacing the running gear.

One of the things that is nice about the trailer aid is that it has steel teeth on the flat side to grip the ground so that it doesn't shimmy or slide when you roll up onto it.

2nd that, and it's plastic doesn't rot, rust, weight much and it's cheap. never understood why people fell it is nessecary to build something or use something for a purpose it is not best suited for just to save a couple bucks, but are more that willing to spend untold amounts of $$ on something frivalous.

The "bending" of the axle refers to crushing the tube not flexing it. Even a slight indentation of the tube would totally mess up the way the rubber insides of the axle work.

I carry a bottle jack. I have a little saddle that is made up of a short pice of round tubing that fits over the jack that is welded to a little pice of u tubing that fits around the trailer frame between the wheels. Keeps the jack under it well. Lifts both wheels quickly and easily. For me the Links blocks slide on the asphalt instead of letting the trailer climb onto high enough stack of them.

I am coming from an enclosed car trailer, but I have always worried that anything that lifts the trailer with one wheel might overload the tire or axle. Is that not a worry here?

First, what I would say is buy the best tires of sufficient load capacity you can to mitigate the likelihood of needing to change a tire, and second, I would think most any trailer that is single axle could easily be lifted up with the jack from the tow vehicle. Try it in the driveway first ?

In addition to having good tires, if you have a single axle trailer a TPMS system is great to have. Saved my bacon at least once.
My Tahoe has a screw jack that works fine, but as stated above, try it in the driveway first. The side of a dark country road is no place to learn.

I don't know if maybe they have changed the design of the Lynx levelers, but I use mine on asphalt all the time when repacking wheel bearings and have never once had them slide on me. When I first got them I was concerned that they might, but they just never have done ..... yet.
