Hi Everyone, it's Been Awhile

We had a family member that fell ill and we've been busy taking care of them, so Lucy has been patiently waiting for me to get back to her. We're still at the place where we left off with her: everything is done and working except upholstery, refrigerator and polish. In between jaunts, Lucy is going to be an Airbnb in our back yard, so I started building her home. We live on a Lake in Austin Texas and we think she'll be pretty popular in the summer. Our property has a 30 degree slope, top to bottom, so I'm building a retaining wall that I'll backfill and create a nice level pad. It'll have full hook-ups and I'm planning on building a deck off of the front

Good idea...I was thinking the same thing once I get done with mine. Take the circle tour of the USA, and then let the old girl retire to FLA. Like her owner

Got the Dining Table Laminated

A local supplier had the boomerang pattern i was looking for in stock. It was a bit pricy, but it's exactly what the trailer called for. I ordered the aluminum edging from a supplier in New York, who also sold the correct router bit to install it. This is the first time I've installed laminate on anything, and it was easier than I thought it would be. I like the results

Mattress

I ordered a custom foam mattress from a local upholstery supplier, and it came in, so I cut it and installed it. The company wasn't comfortable cutting the rounded corners, so I ordered it square and cut the corners myself with an electric knife - easy. I spec'd 4" of HD 36 high density foam on the bottom, 3" of memory foam in the middle and 1" of latex on the top. It's on the firm side, but I like it that way. If you want something softer go with 2" of latex on the top. Now to order custom bedding...

I love the table. It reminds me of my grandma's old table.

Better Plug Covers

I have two exterior plugs that I originally put regular gray covers on. I hated them from the get-go, so I splurged on stainless steel marine covers. They're pricy at $49/each, but I'm much happier with the look.

The wife had our interior designer friend consult on fabric for the interior, so we've picked all of that out. Curtains are next.

Lucy's Pad

Two tons of rock and ten yards of road base and decomposed granite later, and Lucy has a pad. And my back hurts. I've still got to lay the utilities and I'll build a small deck off of the front

Curtains

We finally got the curtains done and installed, and the pillows and bedding are underway. This last part has gone excruciatingly slow, but we're almost to the finish line. All I have is fridge and cushions for the dinette, and it'll be ready to hit the road

Looks great good feeling to be at the bottom of your “to do” list. See you at Inks. Good luck

Finished the deck

I'm waiting on upholstery so I thought I'd go ahead and build the deck.

Upholstery is done!

We finally got the upholstery done, so it's all downhill from here. All I need to do is to purchase and install the fridge and Lucy is ready to go! The pic doesn't do the upholstery justice, it looks much better in person, we're really pleased with it.

On the fridge I have two choices: a Dometic RM8501 or a Norcold N3104. My biggest challenge with the refrigerator is that there really isn't a good way to provide enough venting for it to work on propane. Not sure how I'm going to solve that problem yet
