How to replace a radio antenna, '95 Excella

My side mount wall radio antenna is broken. I have purchased a replacement but the wire lead is not long enough. Not sure if there is an extention in the wall now. I would like to know how to replace the antenna. Please share any advise and how to. Thanks..Mark

I'm not sure what you are asking, but extension cords are readily available. I've taped the new cable to the old cable, and pulled it through the body to get it to the radio. I've then taken the tape off, and plugged the new cable into the radio.

It appears the PO had a similar problem with our 1999 Excella. They attached a new antenna to the lead from the radio, and laid it in the overhead compartment with the radio. I take it out, extend it, and move it around for the best reception. Works great. (The old, dead antenna is still nicely attached outside.)
