How much did you spend on your restoration?

I didn't need to do a full monty - mine was in great shape, but with all new axles, tires, wheels, tires, AC, heater, water, upholstery, etc,

I've just added up my materials costs to be about at $11,750. I had all my shipping receipts go through my email, and all the purchases for the most part put on one card so I could keep track. That's not including my purchase price, nor the tools I already owned. Definitely doesn't include my labor.

How about you?

Rob

How much did you spend on your restoration?

Our new to us 75 Overlander 27' came with a newer hot water heater, fridge, and charger; the furnace and AC were okay and I couldn't find any floor rot. However it needed new plumbing, and many minor repairs due to neglect and/or poor workmanship. It also needed tires and axles.
Total for materials - $4,000.
With me doing the work, we have less in it than if we had bought a new and smaller plain white box.

Renovation Expenditures

We recently updated a 2001, 25' Safari. It was in great shape but very outdated and a bit rusty from sitting idle for years.
Removed & replaced sofa, kitchen counter, bathroom counter and sinks. Painted entire interior, installed new flooring and window coverings. Replaced all tires and installed a new power jack. Total expenditures right down to the pots & pans and throw pillows was about $11,000. that does not count purchase price which was $18,000.00
We now have our "Bayside Betty" and she is beautiful!

Every time I start to add it up I chicken out. I figure that as long as we love it, use it, and enjoy it the cost was worth every penny. It is a fact that you can buy a lot of hotel room nights for the cost of a partial or full restore. This fact is one which people remind me of each year. But then again every time I hear about someone trying to have a campfire in their hotel room it just doesn't seem to work out very well for them nor the hotel ....
