How many clecos?

Building an entire trailer. Starting framing with c channel. Wondering how many clecos I need? I'm guessing 200 of 1/8 and 200 of 3/32. Minimum.

Thoughts?

Half that many. You do not cleco an entire panel when you work it. Also, get about 20 side clamp clecos. You will always use them as a third hand.

Agreed - you don't need a cleco in every rivet hole...just enough to hold things in place in the area you working. We typically only put them in every other or every third hole at a time. However, it did seem like we always came up a couple short. I would say 100 of each would do...you can always buy more itf you find yourself coming up short.

Side Clamps

oh, drat. There are 4 sizes of side clams.

SIDE GRIP CLAMPS from Aircraft Spruce

My C channel is 1.5 inches on all 3 legs. So most of the time I will need a 3.4 inch reach since the rivet will be smack dab in the middle.

But along the outer edge I will have a 1 inch reach to accommodate the edging.

I'm guessing I want this one

ECON SIDE GRIP CLAMPS 3/4 X 1

and that the 3/4 is the max thickness of material measurement
and that the 1 is the reach?

Sound right?

Thanks

Sorry, can't help you with those...we didn't use any. Between the two of us...we had four hands ~

I also never use the edge clamps as they don't clamp very tight and have limited use and I use the vise grips with the swivel pads like below.
