how do I replace pull tab

I pulled the loop off of my door side large Zip Dee awning. How do I extend the Awning now, so that I can reattach the pull loop? This should be a simple fix if I can just get it extended to work on it.

Get a buddy and each of you get on an awning support arm and pull out evenly until the awning is out.

Zip-Dee sells a replacement and it comes with rivets to install it. Works great. With a little help I think you can get awning out to find the tail that's left. Get the replacement first though. For the short term I just tied a short piece of rope on it until I got around to putting the replacement on.

Two people to pull it out. Last rally I riveted a torn strap back on a neighbors ZD. His entire awning was so rotten that it tore right back off. Hopefully he has recovered the awning by now.

On my Safari the loop at the end of the awning center strap has torn. Last week when I tried to open it with the pull bar, it ripped right through the cloth. I do not want to replace the whole strap, so I'm hoping to find another solution. I'm thinking about using some awning cloth to create a new loop and sew it onto the existing strap by hand. I need to find the correct materials. The pull strap on my Safari is a black woven nylon looking fabric.

Has anyone else done this, just added a new looped end?

I've sent an email to Zip Dee requesting assistance. Hoping to hear from them soon.
