Hiya all, new and already have a problem lol

hiya everyone, im Jim from texas, my uncle just gave us a 1969 Overlander, we're gonna be moving to Maine in June, and thought "camping out in the airstream was a good way to save some $ anyways, my problem is a water problem ( i'd ask my uncle but he just got out of the hospital after a motercycle wreck), when i hook the hose up to the water inlet, the water starts comming out of the fron, i think its the tank overflow hose. i know its probably something simple,,usually is well thanks in advance, and nice to meet everyone

Welcome to the Airstream world

Lucky you that you were given a 69 Overlander......I don't know why your water is doing what it is doing but I just wanted to welcome you to the forums.....someone else will have the answer to your question.....enjoy your good fortune...pj

We've all had "problems"

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on your '69 Overlander. You'll find lots of help here.

There is a bit of a learning curve with Airstreams. You should have seen me when I connected the water hose to tank drain on the Tradewind the first time I tried hookups. You're not alone.

thankies allz. this is gonne be 1 of those "adventures" hehe.
we're buying the house we're in right now, but, my "in-laws" who we bought from are now divorcing, dad dude is really sick,, their kids and them fighting over money,,, and so on,, lol,, the usual "soap opera".
so,, we had this airstream given to us, all original,, some worn out parts here and there, mostly cosmetics,, and decided our kids dont need this "enviroment" so,, we're picking up,, haha,, gonna move a couple miles away in a red-neck trailer and rv park,,hehehe,, and until june,, do some camping, and then move back up to Maine where im originally from., oh did i mention i have a wife, 2 little girls age 3 + 6, 2 peafowl, 3 chickens, and a big savanah moniter lizrard,, that i may have to get rid of lol his tank is as big as the camper lol.
so im a camping FREAK anyways, but have always done it in a tent,, so this is gonna be a little different. lol

Thanks everyone for the "welcomes" and i have a feeling you'll get used to seeing my name alot hahahaha...

will throw some pics up tomorrow,, after i get all the "stuff" that was in there out,, the wife quit half way through her "clean-up" job
so i'll have to finish it tomorrow.
for as old and all original as this thing is,, its in great shape, some of the plastic fixtures broke, rug worn down, some broke latch's,,, and me figuring out where im gonna bring the "tv" cable through,, haha. i need to fix the front bed, the rollers come out of the runners, which i noticed when i was looking for the water valve
and it needs major cleaning,, this odessa texas sand and wind isnt very nice to the inside decor hehe.
but i promise to brag more tomorrow with pics,,hehe,, my friend here are getting tired of me asking if they wanna go out and look at it again
