Unhappy Help! We crunched part of our trailer!

Passing a truck in a narrow lane the trailer and the pickup scraped each other. Damage to Airstream: Top left corner panel dented, lower left corner dented, upper left window guard broken, not the window, thankfully. Who has had to repair damage to their trailer, and who did you get to repair it? We can take it anywhere, but we live in Colorado and closer would be better.

Where in Colorado?

The Airstream website lists two dealerships (owed by the same folks) along the front range.

I would not recommend either location in Colorado. This is from personal experience with sales and service.
Look elsewhere!

P&S trailers or Factory, Both in Ohio. George Hernandez but he's in New York State. Sorry but not much help for anything closer.

The Airstream HQ in Jackson Center Ohio. Highly recommended for repairs of this order. Email them photos and get their feedback.

Good luck,

Peter

I would recommend Timeless Travel Trailers in Wheat Ridge, CO. (303) 432-7007. They replaced the rear end cap for me this winter and did an excellent job. Pressure tested and everything. They also repaired lots of hail damaged ASs around the Denver area two years ago. Two thumbs up!

Oh gosh, you two! We are so sorry to hear about your crunch...no fun, indeed. Did this happen on your way home from Santa Fe?

Hope you get it resolved soon and to your satisfaction. I'd talk to Timeless Travel Trailers as well. I've heard good things about them.

Don't know how deep a dent you collected, but some have reported great success using an inner-tube, a sheet of sturdy plywood, and a shop vacuum to pop dents out.

The technique involves partially inflating an appropriate-sized innertube, surrounding the dented area with it, putting the plywood over it, and using the shop vac hose to suck the air out through a pre-drilled hole in the plywood. Atmospheric pressure on the other side of the panel does the work.

If the dent does not include a bad crease or hole, this can do surprisingly well to clear the dent out...

So very sorry to learn about your mishap. Glad that you are safe though!

Don't use the Colorado Airstream dealer. They are horrible. Timeless Travel Trailers in Wheatridge does great repair work and are the "go to" people for quality Airstream restoration in this area of the planet.

I purchased my Airstream from and also go to Lazy Days in Tucson when I need something major done.

Good luck to you.

Sorry to hear your plight. A deer ran into the left front of my Airstream resulting in $12000 of damage. I had it repaired at the Airstream factory in Ohio. They made it look like new.

OTOH I have had only excellent sales and service experience in Denver. Manny in sales and Will in service have been great to work with. When our 2017 Classic was totaled in a May hail storm last year we didn’t consider working with anyone else for the purchase of our 2018 model.

Panels Replaced

We had several panels replaced on a 2000 Safari at InterMountain Airstream in the Salt Lake City area (Draper, I think). They did good work.

Intermountain Airstream is no longer. It's now Airstream of Utah. The new management is top notch. They're in South Salt Lake.

We've not used their body work repair service.

Hi

One would *hope* that there is insurance to cover this. If not ... yikes. A full up repair will be very expensive. There are various approaches to dent pulling if it must be done on the cheap. One nasty surprise ( with any insurance on anything ) is that you seem to be able to "total" the vehicle without really doing a lot of damage. If you have insurance, get them involved early ( at least to find out if your "magic number" is < $10,000 ).

Purchase is one thing, and thy did fine with us as well. However, service is horrible, and that is being kind.....

I have one year left o warranty work and will my go back, I will go elsewhere. After warranty is up, I plan to use timeless travel trailer in Denver, several friends highly reccomend their work, and these guys are picky!

Holiday Travel Trailers in Albuquerque is a large AS dealer and has been in business for over 40 years and have a reputation for doing quality work. I would suggest doing your own research on reviews, however. They are always very busy so you need to schedule in advance. 505-294-7576.Give them a call.
