Help wanted. Experienced only need apply
I have tussled with my AS for almost 3 years and, although I have made a lot of progress, I have definitely run out of steam. I am looking for someone in the Athens, Ga region to help me wrap this project up (no, Kevin, do not send me to your uncle who is "brilliant" at restoring Airstreams). I realize that this forum is mainly for hobbyists who do their own work. But I am hoping that there is someone out there who is experienced and wants some income to help me out. Please don't advise me to plug along and finish it myself, I just can't. And I need someone who knows what they're doing. Also, the trailer needs to stay at my house (long story, bad ending). Also, please don't advise me to just sell it. It is almost completely gutted, with the parts gathering dust in my garage.
The good news is that I have finished staining the interior wood parts, epoxied the bath fixtures, and repaired the sub floor. I have identified leaks (missing rivets, seams that need filling), but need to seal the darn leaks.
Anyone interested? I would require a seal of approval from the Airforums community.
You know what a great idea would be? Establish Airstream:extreme makeover teams, across the country. I would be glad to come and help someone (in a team effort), to get together and help with restoration, in exchange for help with mine. Until then: Help Wanted!
