Help the Goo be Gone

Hello all -

Any savvy souls out there that might know what's replicating around the exterior of our 19' Bambi? The white material looks and feels almost like dried caulk. But it's not. Most of our stainless trim areas (light frames as shown in pic, door grab handle, etc.) are affected.

Can we take something more aggressive than a brush with mild soap and water to attack this stuff? Does anyone know what this stuff might be? Have I happened upon some sort of miracle bonding agent?

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance. In case our clime comes in to play, we are in Oregon.

DOUG

It's called filiform corrosion and you can read all about it here:

You likely won't like what you read.

Welcome Aboard....

A quick primer.....

Get a tall glass of....

and read-up.

If you cruise that corrosion thread you can ask questions and post there.

It's no fun and it can look like hell but it is controllable with proper care and sealing.

I've got more than a few posts there myself.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping it was simply crystallized Walbernize residue or something. Ugh. We'll get to work...
