Heads up, on exterior step carpet

If you bought and installed the step carpeting from CW or other suppliers beware of what they will do to metal steps in two years, out of sight carpet appears good but each rain and camper wash they hold moisture and cause steps to rust, I had painted steps prior to installing carpet so I know step metal was in good shape, If it wasn't for a step motor repair I wouldn't have discovered the rust.

Didn't think about pictures when I discovered the rust, just fixing.

Worst part couldn't be seen, front edge of step completely hidden by carpet and had to remove carpet to see. A couple more years and the strength the step gets from the right angle front edge would have been lost. It now has a mottled look after scrapping and painting with rustoleum.

I will have to look under the exterior step carper on mine and see what is happening.

Here is a link to a stainless step cover that has a rubber mat that looks pretty good.

Design Your Coach

Input the information on your coach and a list of their products including the step covers will open.
