Has Anyone Replaced the smaller Keeler Lockset on a 1991 Airstream?

Hello,

I have a 34 ft 1991 Airstream with a Keeler lock, but the smaller version which I think was used about 1989 to 1991. It is approx 3.5 x 4.25 inches...roughly the same as the Trimark replacement. The problem is that sliding bolt piece that breaks on so many older locksets.

Has anyone here replaced this version of Keeler with a Trimark? Supposedly it can be done without the kit that the larger Keeler mandates.

Other than that, I know the parts and re-builds are super hard to come by....any fresh thoughts?

Thanks
David

You will have to use an adapter plate, if you want a new style lock.

It looks just like the more common, older version - but is smaller. About the same size as the new ones but of course nothing could be simple ;

Even the smaller version requires an adaptor plate?
