Hail Damage

I thought other forum members might like to see our experiences after a hail storm experience in Texas. We're talking serious size hail. Total damage was $45,600. We took our 2016 Classic to Jackson Center in October for the repairs. Artie Presser our service writer has been great about answering all of our questions and concerns. Thumbs up to him and the staff at the service center. Also Progressive Insurance has been fantastic, speedy and thorough. They have kept us informed of the progress and repairs.

Thanks!

With that much damage dollar wise I am surprised the insurance adjuster did not just total the trailer.

I personally would not want that many Olympic rivets holding things together!

$46k is only about a third of the value of a Classic.

Well there goes your advanced aerodynamic dimpling by Mother Nature. You'll lose 1-2mpg by fixing it....

Wow! That's some serious hail for sure. Two years ago at Mt Rushmore we got hammered by hail I two vehicles. $30K damage total. To get to 46k must have been huge hail!

Thx

For 46k, they're should remove the interior panels to buck river the new panels on! I'm surprised no one brought that up yet!

Hail damage

One of the reasons that I liked Progressive insurance is that they did not want to use Olympic rivets. The service center also wanted the buck rivets. So removal of the interior to install the buck rivets was necessary. They have assured us that it will be like new, which it was. I'll keep you posted when we pick up in March.

Thanks!

I'm guessing that the profit margin is such that airstream could give them a new classic and still make money at 45k. But to keep that the secret that it is (I smell another post) maybe drastic measures are called for? My 2 bits.
