Getting started with a '66 Overlander

Hi everyone - my wife and I just got her Grandfather's 1966 Overlander (that he bought new). We're just getting started looking it over and figuring out what we need to do. The biggest problem I've found so far is that some of the belly skin at the rear is hanging down and tearing. It looks like something above has given way, but I'm trying to figure out what.

Looking at the manual, it seems like the black water tank should be under the toilet; however, there have obviously been changes made over the years (the Univolt is gone, the fridge is gone, etc.), so I'm not sure if this is a "new" tank that's come loose from its supports or something else.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to get started looking at this, I'd appreciate it! I'm thinking I'm going to have to take the belly skins off, which I'm not looking forward to.
