Galley Hand Pump

Hi All--Wondering if you can give me some insight into how to go about fixing my galley handpump. It is the original in a 58 Airsteam Traveler. Pump is fine but does not draw any water. It use to if I sucked the water to get started but now that does not work. Looks like it needs some type of gasket repair or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

At least I am not alone on this problem. However, I don't have to worry about it for another year since I haven't gotten to the point of putting the inner skins back on.

But yes you are probably going to have to disassemble the hand pump and replace the O-rings and perhaps any gaskets as well. Unless you find something solid is broken inside the pump, a quick trip to the hardware store should help you fix any O-ring issues.

There are also modern replacements available if the existing one can't be repaired.
