Fixing an AC water leak (during rain- not running)

Yesterday we went to the storage yard to check on our trailer in preparation for a trip south that we hope to make next month.

The trailer has not been used since last Fall, but we noticed a very small amoun of water on the floor directly below the AC unit.

I will probably try to take a look to see what's up when we get to warmer weather!

I haven't had to do any work on the AC before, but I just did a little research and read that probably teh first thing I need to check is that the bolts accessible from inside the trailer and used to pull the AC down onto its foam gasket have not come loose.

So I am just wondering ......... do these bolts thread into the frame of the AC, or are there nuts up topside so that in order to tighten anything found loose, I would need to remove the AC shroud and have a second person up top with a wrench to hold the nuts?

Tightening any bolts found loose seems to be the only thing I will be able to try to address any leak from the AC.

I imagine that if the gasket needs replacement this is maybe something I would need to leave to a dealer since I suppose the unit needs to be lifted clear of the roof to install a new gasket. I have a bit of a back problem and would guess the thing is fairly heavy and maybe a two person job to deal with changing gaskets

Just trying to educate myself a bit before getting into it! Any advice or suggestions? Anything else it might be other than gasket related?

The bolts can be tightened from the bottom, no nuts to worry about.

Could also be a leak in the shroud loose bolts on top or a crack leaking down through the A/C and inside the gasket.

Thanks for the additional info.

I suppose that all I can do is first check the bolts and snug up any found loose then wait until we get some rain.

If problems still exist, it should be easy enough for me to go up top and remove the cover for a look around.

If that reveals nothing, I suppose the AC have to be removed for further attention - and that I will leave to an RV shop to do!
