Final straw!

I had been increasingly frustrated at the progress of my renovation. Not being the kind of person that gives up easily, I pushed through on my money/time suck. I had been struggling with whether or not I wanted to finish my AS or just scrap it all.
Well...Mother Nature decided to make my decision for me.
Last Saturday morning, a small tornado hit my neighborhood. It traveled about 300 yards ending right on top of my Airstream shell on saw horses. It picked it up and tossed it 10 feet and dropped it damaging all of the lower panels and all four corners.
I give up! This project has been nothing but trouble from the start. I refused to give up on it until this. Even though I have spent a great deal of time and money building a new frame, this is the end of the road for me.
I will probably sell all if I can find a way to jack the shell up and get it out of my life.

Greg

Final straw!

First off, I’m glad no one was injured.

Did any of the glass get broken? Can’t really tell from the pictures.

Selling it is certainly an option if you can find someone willing to take over the project. The shell is bent, but it with a new frame might live on. Depends on how bad their Aluminiumitis syndrome is...

Sometimes we quit our projects and sometimes we get a little help. Looks a little sad sitting there.

Sorry with your frustration but glad nobody was hurt in the process.

Bummer
You should be able to sell some of it or maybe sell the aluminum for scrap.
Sorry for your loss

Sorry for your troubles, I renovated my 22' Safari in Helotes as well, up on Helotes Springs Rd, for those of you working a shell off, we used dog anchors and rachet straps to keep our shell earth bound

Thumbs up

FWIW I had the same reaction . . . a blessing . . . if you were having second thoughts . . . ["I had been increasingly frustrated"]

Final straw!

Ive done a couple of restorations - there were times when if someone came by with $1 I would have sold it - from what I see it’s still fixable :-) - good luck whatever you decide
