Light cover replacement

Those cheesy plastic light covers kept falling off in my '72 Safari. I made new ones out of copper sculpture armature wire I got from an art supply store. It looks like copper screen but instead of the holes being square they are diamond-shaped so it can be molded. In keeping with the gypsy wagon theme I put beads on them too. If you try this at home, be sure to put electrical tape over any exposed wires in the fixture. When I first started to fit it in I didn't realize there was an exposed wire. It sure made quite the pop and spark and blew a fuse. Unlike the hold light covers that would fall off and rattle around the trailer, these did just fine taking it down to the FCU rally in Cottonwood.

Oh oh! I have another one. Well actually this was inspired by rich Lure.
I installed an idicator light for Water pump "armed". It is in my control panel. When ever either one of my switches is one the light comes on. $3.99 for the LED.
I put one of these in for the outside lights as well. I am always leaving them on too.

ID:	33048 Damn, it worked! Ok, it's not a modification, but I found it in the half price bin at Bed Bath & Beyond. Does this look like it belongs in an Airstream or what?

I just figured out how to use the camera on my new cell phone today. Not bad if I say so myself..... Getting delusions of adequacy!

Hi, that's really a neat looking tea pot, even if you just use it for a decoration. I wanted to show pictures of my improvements, modifications, and repair ideas, but I spent more time on this computer trying to post pictures than it took to do all of my improvements Etc. [I gave up] I'm not in the computer generation. I can build or repair almost anything, but I can't post pictures on this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Frustrated in Lakewood.

I guess, if I make it to the Casini Ranch Rally, I will show all interested parties what I have done in person.

Whatever that means.

Yes, I have seen the orange rods used in the past and they cost much more.

Elvis lights

My favorite el-cheapo mod is the addition on some $9.99 rope lights wrapping over the interior curbside front windows, around the front and ending just forward of the door. Makes for indirect lighting!

Awnings are expensive items, and over the years I've noticed a few threads where members have reported that the awning pull strap has broken off or has split, e.g
http://www.airforums.com/forum...tion-8700.html
This sometimes seems to be caused by ultra-violet light damage to the end of the strap, the only part of the awning material exposed to the sun. This can be fixed by shielding this strap end when the trailer is left for long periods. One method is to take an old stocking, or similar, slip it over the pull end of the strap when the awning is open, and roll it into the awning when you close it.
Nick.

That is outstanding! You really did pimp your ride. Even this old man appreciates that! Did you wire your running lights to be on powered by the TT 12volt system?

Could I ask: just how did you do that? smile

Battery Disconnect For Under $100

I'm always forgetting to disconnect my battery, in addition, no matter where they are, they always seem inaccessible.

The older I get, the more I forget.

This is my solution for my CRS disease.

I mounted the Marine Grade Battery Selector Switch where I could get to it, tapped into the positive lead to the battery - all for well under a C-note.

Hi, hopeing to post pictures for the first time.

Eight hundred hours later and finally a picture apears.

This is a picture of the toilet base where the vinyl floor kept lifting up so I bought some carpet trim [aluminum] and made it narrower, cut the angles and screwed it in place. Problem solved!
