I purchased 4 Ez Breeze fans from fantastic vent. Low profile and no shroud needed in rainy weather. I really like the design. http://www.fantasticvent.com/fan-tas...reeze-fan.html

Can't believe the price difference between Fantastic Fan and Maxx Air. WOW! I am not too fond about the MAxx Air logo on the sides. If I get them I will have to compound the name away, sorry.

Mine has a push button that raises/lowers the cover.
The button is in one corner of the housing.
There is a power button in another corner.
A temperature knob is in another corner.
Your remote control fan may be different.
I've never seen a remote control one.
The manual control is also in the corner of the housing. It looks like a knob or wheel.

I would say this is a must-do, with one caveat: If you plan to add solar or add more solar in the future, take note of what it might do to your space planning. If the available space is large, it would probably have no impact. But the covers do extend the footprint of the fan and, more consequentially, they cast shadows on the roof.

We got the Ultra Breeze because of the air flow / restriction issues. We ended up having no solar issues arising from the resulting shadows because we vaulted our solar panels above the roof. There's a description of our cover installation here:

I love mine. Great idea. Easy install that allows you to vent while raining

We put the FF ultra breeze in smoke color on both of our fans. Dealer remarked on how easy they were to install over the existing FF vs. the Max Air cover.

I first installed them on my Alfa, I had a wet load of snow smash my vent cover over the bathroom. So loaded with snow there was a snow melt shower over the toilet.
I have then installed on my AS too.

I don't think I could handle the aesthetics of these vent covers. When the time comes I think I'll replace the Fantastic fans with a MaxxAir duluxe model vent.

The manual operation knob may be on the motor.
You may have to push or pull to turn the knob manually.

What are the chances! As I read this thread, I decide that I will install a Maxx Air vent cover over the FF. I do the research and see the pricing. etc. on EBay and Camping World etc. Before I actually order the covers, I take a ride through the Campground at Sunshine Key FL at the FL Rally and what do I see but a yard sale here! My wife says LOOK, a Maxx Air vent cover. new, cheap. Can't wait to install when we return home! Looks like an easy install, viewing one of the videos in this thread!

I installed the regular MaxAir over our vents. Airflow was greatly reduced!! Considering changing to MaxAir II or the FF covers.
