Exterior strip coming off - suggestions for adhesive?

Hi all,
There is a strip coming off Roameo - see the attached photo. I've used all the skill I have to reattach see duct tape. Does anyone have suggestions for adhering this. I believe the hubby did try some adhesive but after winter storage we found it hanging off again.

Thanks for help

I believe that there is usually a sort of clip that is held on by a screw (or is it a rivet) that has a little step built into it. But it's been 5 months since I last saw my trailer so I won't swear to it.

On the newer trailers, this is held on only by a peel and stick adhesive strip on the back. Is seems that moisture and dirt can gain a foothold starting near an end, usually near the front, probably from road spray and wind. I lost one completely off the stone shield. Inland sells it by the foot, so far it's holding. I believe Andy at Inland recommends 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive in addition to the adhesive strip. The surfaces should be cleaned with alcohol for best results. Was surprised that the ends aren't secured mechanically to prevent this from happening. Maybe a pop rivet or a stainless sheet metal screw, but I'm not too keen on adding any more holes that might leak water to the interior.

Hi, use 3-M body side moulding tape; It is either black or dark gray in color and wrapped in red plastic. Do not use the 3-M household tape that is white in color and wrapped in green.

Yep, just replaced all of my chrome insert. It is 3M sticky on the back side (stuck on via tape) The directions say to clean the area thoroughly with isopropol alchohol before adhering. That may help in your prepping the area. The rail itself is held on my trailer by both rivets and screws. I would think that RobertSunrus' solution would work for you.

I suggest cleaning the aluminum with 3M Adhesive Cleaner and reattaching the plastic insert with 3M weatherstrip adhesive. I prefer the black adhesive from 3M. They make a yellow color, too.

Both products available at a good auto parts store.

This worked for us.

Thanks All!

Here's me with the tape - turns out we had to get three rolls. Two so we could line them up along the strip - the third because we couldn't find the second until of course after we bought the third!

That's similar to what we used, too..I think ours was labled "exterior super strength" or something like that. It fit the track perfectly and our silver molding isn't going ANYwhere now!
