Unhappy Electric sliding step warning buzzer

Hi, we purchased a new 2011 Interstate 3500 in April. On the first weekend we took it out, a warning buzzer began to sound and continued all the way home. I am assuming this is the warning buzzer for the electric step since the alarm seems to be originating from that area. The step was in. The alarm still sounds every time the vehicle is on whether the step is in or out.
We called the service department at the dealership we purchased it from and they say it is the awning - which was not out at all that weekend.
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Common sense to try - deploy the awning, then rewind it. It may have a lockdown hook that wasn't fully in. Check that too.

With all things electric, try one reset first.

Good luck, Paula
