Question Drain cleaner?

What do you recommend for shower and sink drains?

hi deaux'

water and LOTS of it, is the first best choice.

'slow' drains happen from NOT flushing the solids well enough (boondockers' reflux) and

sometimes are related to the POSITIONING of the trailer,

nose DOWN even a tad slows the galley drains on rear bed models

the opposite may apply to FB layouts depending on tank placements.

for grease, food, hair and others 1time goodies, that eventually settle in the traps...

AVOID the caustic stuff.

the caustic products are bad for the waste collection down stream (trailer tanks/fittings and park systems) and leaks are messy.

use products that are enzyme/bacteria based just like used for the holding tanks...

see post #14 in this thread (the thread is about boondockers constipation)...

Unblocking my black water tank

and #23 in this thread...

Airstream Smell or is it an Odor?

there are MANY "rv specific" products sold,

but the Roeb' stuff is widely available , less expensive, safe for septic and EATS pretty good.

cheers

Dont use that caustic stuff, take the trap off,and put a drain snake through the pipe, that will loosen it up.Put the trap back on,then run some realy HOT water.

No Brainer Drainer

Pour 1/4c baking soda into drain, then pour about 1c of white vinegar in. Let the foaming action do its thing for about and hour and rinse with the hottest water setting. The clog and goo will clear and all natural. Will also help the holding tanks.

I agree with Nancy, but add salt to the baking soda...equal parts. I saw it on the BBC show "How clean is your house?"....great show.

interesting point about the salt. years ago i remember being told to use kosher salt to soak up an oil spill. it worked well.
