Door profile - '79 Ambassador

The top of the door of my 79 Ambassador doesn't close tight to the frame as does the bottom. I'm not convinced that replacing the door seal will correct the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem and how did you fix the door curvature to match up snugly to the frame? The misalignment is not excessive, but I do see daylight at the corner on the door lock side. Thanks.

The door frame is most likely broken, and usually at the door lock, especially if someone added a dead bolt.

The proper fix, is to remove the metal from the interior of the door, have the broken area welded, and then reassemble the sheet metal to the door, using different mount holes, since the original holes have been stretched.

It may also be that your door is "sprung." This is usually the result of a door flying open while in tow, and the door ends up getting bent when it whips open. Do a search for "sprung door," and you should find several hits where forum members describe their process for re-forming a bent door.
