Dometic Dual Zone Thermostat

Currently in south Florida and having trouble with the thermostat in my 2012 FC. Zone 1 a/c has been performing well until the compressor stopped cycling. In checking the thermostat, it indicated the inside zone 1 temp was 32*. Turned that unit off. A couple hours later, it read 76* for the inside temp. Turned it back on and the compressor kicked in and ran fine. The next day, same thing, ran fine until late afternoon then the compressor stopped with the inside zone 1 temp reading 32*. After a couple hours inside temp was back to normal and the unit ran fine after being turned on.

Comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

Barry

PS, I'm not a trouble shooter.

Check the Dometic manual (which should be in your AS briefcase along with the owner's manual) for doing a hard reboot of the stat, and make sure the time on the stat is set. You could also turn your Use/Store battery switch off and on if this gets the stat to do its own reset IMO. [edit -- unplug your shore power first]

There are tons of threads on Dometic stat problems, so if the above does not help, go up to Search at the top right, use the lower drop-down search box by Google, and enter "Dometic thermostat problems" as the search terms.

Good luck!

Peter

PS -- Search results for "Dometic stat hard reboot" --

PS2 -- There are also threads about checking all the wiring connections behind the stat, and in the upper unit, which require removal of the lower shroud which has some hidden screws. There are other threads about the locations of your remote temperature sensing "sending units" which may be picking up inaccurate heat readings from your fridge etc.. FYI
