Has anyone installed a Dometic Blizzard AC unit to replace whatever you had? Dometic claims this unit is quieter than the Penguin II which Airstream currently uses. I might need to replace my old AC unit and the alleged quietness of the Blizzard sounds good to me. Any real world experience and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't installed this particular unit so I can't comment on how quiet it is or isn't. I just installed a new Dometic AC unit and you may need to replace the ADB(air distribution unit) the part that goes on the ceiling inside and/or the thermostat.
My penguin just took a crap, so I'm planning on installing a Blizzard 15k heat pump in about 2 weeks. A mobile repair guy said it wouldn't fit, seeing that someone else has already done it, I'm going to give it a shot. I can't stand the vibration that the penguin has, and I also have high hopes for the redesigned air box being a bit quieter.
I'll let you know haw it turns out, and try to document it all.
