JFerguson, please email me at, airstreamsketchup@gmail.com and attach a copy of your SketchUp file. That way I can download it. Then I should be able to respond with a fix.

A request

Howdy to all who are viewing and/or using these instructions. You can help me in the following ways:
1. When you view a video you will see a row of 5 stars just below the lower left corner of the video picture. You can click from 1 to 5 stars to show how you would rate this instruction.
2. There is also a place for comments lower on the page. Comments on individual instructions can really help me know what's working and what might not be working for you.
3. Send comments and suggestions to airstreamsketchup@gmail.com. This is also a good place to ask questions. Also you can send me copies of you SketchUp files when you have a question on your models.
4. Also Home (Airstream SketchUp Design)
is a good place to go to see all the lessons listed in order.
Your input will help me create better lessons. And we should be able to help others in the design of their trailer projects.
Thanks Don

instruction Cleanup of model

Robert sent in a request to airstreamsketchup@gmail.com with a question on the design he is currently working with. So instruction in "6" section will deal with the solutions to his model. Cleanup of the model. This can get a little tricky so this section of instruction should be helpful to all who are designing.

Don

Robert thanks for sending in your request.

Hey Don,

The Coast Guard has some rather strict rules about youtube and I really want to keep doing your tutorials while I am at sea this summer. I will be taking my personal laptop along but I won't have connectivity underway with my private computer and I won't be able to watch youtube on my Coast Guard workstation.

I figure if I can't work on my airstream at least I can do preliminary designwork. Would it be possible to buy a DVD or CD-Rom with all of your video tutorials on it? You have obviously worked very hard on this and I feel you deserve something for your time, even if it's just a token something.

Thanks,
Jon

Happy Sketching Don
Where do you get the floor plans? I need a good set for my 64 Overlander.

Well I answered my own question, sort of. This site has decent layouts:

Fred's Airstream Archives - Trailer Floorplans

They are kind of small to read and I don't see any useful dimensions.

instruction

This lesson 7a in for holes that are left after the "follow me tool" is used. Jon's model is the one used in this instruction. Many of you may run into the same problem during your designing.

Well it made perfect sense once I watched you do it. It's remarkable how effective the tutorials are.

instruction creating windows

Section of instruction "8" is on creating windows and other openings in the shell of your trailer design. This series of instructions is one of the most detailed. It is my suggestion that you review the instructions several times before you begin. SketchUp has it's own method for cutting in windows however it work on single wall models only. We have double skinned trailers which require more steps to complete. The lesson includes guidelines for both the square and rounded windows of different years of trailer production. If you should have questions on this section please email your questions to airstreamsketchup@gmail.com.
