instruction Cabinet Design
Well I'm back at it again. The series 10 instructions will follow the design process of a kitchen cabinet I'm building for our kitchen in our house. This instruction will also apply to the designing of cabinets for your Airstream. The cabinet is a base cabinet with 4 pullout "drawers" for the storage of canned goods etc.

Hi Don
Mamos here from sunny Falmouth in Cornwall UK
We are doing a restoration on a 69 Globe trotter and I would love to learn how to design the interior using sketch up.
I have downloaded the program and I'm ready to go.
I will start going through thee tutorials and get started
I have a background in 2D design so this will add a who new dimension to my work. (see what I did there) Oh well
cheers

Thanks Don for doing the tutorials, and to the others for the sketchup postings. It is turning in to being a very useful tool. I too have yet to master the curved surface renditions, and know I have hardware limitations.

The 60's end caps are the most difficult to create. If you get to the point where you don't think you will master it. PM me and I could send you a copy of the end caps I did for our 63 Bambi.

Design in 3D
Don and others,
I am currently using SketchUp to design the interior of our recently acquired '67 AS Safari 22' as well as a "guest quarters" shed where it will be parked. For me the shed part is fairly easy but the AS work is a challenge with its complex curves. Those who have gone before help a bunch when they post their models to the 3D Warehouse site. So far an AS of the same dimensions has not been posted but it is possible to sufficiently modify other models. For now I'm looking for bed options and associated cabinetry but will soon start on kitchen cabinets & dinette area.
Jim

I'm in also - just downloaded the Google SketchUp app. Any 25 footer files available to start with?
