Congratulations Paula! Enjoy. I am retiring this coming Friday from 38 years in industrial filtration and couldn't be happier.

If my employer is paying a fair( to both parties) wage, one wouldn't care....

One of my favorite irritating remarks when somebody tells me they want something unreasonable, "Hey, keep doing that. It's good to want things."

Then I duck and run.

Debadging a 2016 Classic

My usual response, to "What did it cost?, " if I'm feeling charitable, is to say, "It's paid for..."

Otherwise, "More than you can afford..."

But never tell any price...😇 that info is a NYDB.

Please don't devalue something you own (by de-badging it) in an effort to keep others from making assumptions about your spending habits. It's a self inflicted wound.

In small town America those in business buy only a new car that is the same model as the last one, and the same color. They don't build a new house they remodel the old one, on the inside. They don't buy fancy RV's, they buy a remote lake or mountain retreat so no one knows.

Usually this is not because of employees, no workers in town get paid well, it's because the locals avoid using their business thinking they're making too much money. "Who does he think he is anyway." They head to Walmart or Home Depot so life is fair.

Buy the Classic, store it out of town, and never drive down Main Street with it in tow.

As long as you provide good leadership, a decent wage and don't be a snob - most won't care what you buy. I don't get mad at others, I get more mad at myself for not figuring out how to make the big bucks......

I don't know if this part is true - but many years ago, I worked with a woman whose husband was a VP in the same company (we were pee-ons). She told me at her annual review, our boss commented on the new Jag and Porsche she and her husband purchased that year and - according to her - that was the reason she didn't get a raise that year. If that were true, obviously, that would be none of the boss' business - and how she and her VP husband manage their investments should have no bearing on a merit increase.

Fast forward - today I'm the VP. A woman who works on my team (reporting to someone who reports to me directly) has a massive 5th wheel that's worth more than my AS and it's none of my business - though we love to compare notes on fun camping sites...

Similarly, my boss' boss owns several homes and probably makes 10x what I do and deserves every penny of it - and probably has 100x more stress than I do to boot. Equally - this is none of my business. Though he frequently asks me how things are with the "Gulfstream" 😀

The theme here is that none of this is anyone's business. Except for 2 souls out of 7 billion on the planet, there's always someone with more and someone with less than you. It is what it is. Go camping, don't deface your camper, be a good person to everyone and enjoy life.

The badges are held on by two rivets that could be easily drilled out. Unfortunately to rivet holes would be left behind. That's why I thought about have a custom badge made, made with my business logo or last name. Use the same airstream style , but change it up a bit.
Walmart has a good stock of supplies for rv's. Maybe they have a Walmart badge you could place over the badge using duct tape?

Wrap some crime scene tape around it. The price of the airstream will probably never be discussed.

Hardly seems worth worrying about IMHO !

Most people probably know a lot less than you imagine about different Airstream models - and even if they do know the different models, do they care?

Its just a trailer! Not that big a deal, The average motorhome costs a whole lot more and there sure are a pile of them running around out there that sell for much much more than the most expensive Airstreams!
