Compartment over bed falling

Driving over a washboard road yesterday caused four screws to break off on the backside of the compartment over the bed (holds our clothes) in my 16ft Bambi. I'm in Durango, CO. Biggest rv repair place says it will take 2 weeks before he can even look at it. I am on a month long trip and can't wait that long. So, I guess my question is, What would you guys do?

I would take the clothes out and prop the cabinet up with a 2x4 and a pad, if necessary, when on the road. I would fix it when I got home.

Buying a new drill and some screws (I'm assuming you don't have the drill already with you on the trip) would be cheaper than the RV repair place anyway, most likely. So if you didn't mind taking some of your vacation time to tinker with it, you should be able to drill the old screws which will promptly push into the space between the skins when the drill starts to bite, then put in new screws and travel on.

Another assumption I'm making is that you can get a drill onto the broken screws without removing the rest of the screws that hold up this cabinet and temporarily removing the cabinet to get at those broken-off screws, which might be more involved.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have taken the clothes out. It seems stable enough to sleep under for now but not so sure if I go on any more really bad roads. I'll see what I can do with my limited repair skills.
