Weird,

I have invested hundreds lately into the bailout plan at VTS, and I never got this email. Guess they already landed this fish.

is this where most of the forum buy their rivets? and if so, the VTS shows w/washer or without.... so which is it? we have not had to replace any so are not familiar. wonder if they give the 12% discount on top of the $3.off of 3 or more boxes.

Get your Olympics from VTS. Go without the washers if you are using vulkem sealant, which is best. Washers are good to have if you have to do a repair on the road when you don't have any sealant. The washers come off really easy, so I ordered mine with and just pull them off. Get your regular aluminum pop rivets from Home Depot or Lowes.

We have the best price on Olympic rivets anywhere.

My husband did some repair under the trailer using regular pop rivets from HD. Should he have used the Olympics? Where do Olympics get used and where do regular pop rivets?

Olympic rivets are used for the exterior sheetmetal that is on the sides, top, and on the front and rear of the shell, along with Vulkem sealer as a sealant.

Pop rivets are used on the underbelly as well as colored pop rivets for the interior.

Large head pop rivets are usually used on the underbelly.

Leigh, I purchase my pop rivets at Fastenal. I save about $5 for every 500 count box over the Lowe's of HD price. But then, you have to need 500 to save the money. I've used about 1500 (so far) on my restoration. Haven't had the need for any Olympics (yet).

There's a bunch of stuff here on the forums about rivets. Search and ye shall find.

I too was going to throw Fastenal into the pop rivet vendor list. They have a huge size availability and their price is much better than anywhere I have found. When buying those olympic rivets, buy more than you think you will need and be sure to check the cost of the rivets with shipping. Shipping + rivets does not always make the price of the rivets the cheapest when it is all added up.
