This past spring during a brutal heavy rain and wind storm we were headed east on the Trans Canada highway just outside of Vancouver and on the shoulder was the remains of a 16 ft or longer awning. Arms and all, it looked like the whole thing, including the rail it slids into on the side of the trailer, was ripped off. We figured the camper who lost it was going to have a very bad evening , or worse. We did not see any sign of a rig pulled over along the highway.

Had we been in the truck I'd of stopped to pick it up, and it was also raining unbelievably hard. I'd of been soaked in less time than it would have taken to pick up the first couple of pieces. We went past the next morning early and it was already gone. We wondered how far the rig got before they realized it was missing. It was one of those rains where looking in your mirror you couldn't see a darned thing.

Rivet more CHECK YOUR NUTS !

Here's another reason to check your nuts.

Two weeks ago while breaking camp, Ike finds one of the stabilizers (commonly known as a "feetie") won't crank up. Upon closer examination he finds the nut and bolt on the ground.

soooooo .............. CHECK YOUR NUTS

I have a little yogurt cup in the trailer that I store all the various nuts, bolts, washers, clips etc that I've found on the ground while strolling around the camp grounds. They have obviously fallen off the other rigs that have come and gone in the past while. They sure do come in handy when I discover one has fallen off of MY trailer.

Of course "one" HAS to remember to remove them from the pocket and put into the container before the clothes head to the washing machine or "one" is suddenly in number "two" .
