Canadian restoration Companies?

Hi all

New to forum, long time lurker -first post !

Based in Vancouver, Canada and finding a "hofarc" ish type of reno company has been a challenge. Not finding the dollar exchange very friendly going south for a large expense such as a frame off reno, we've been tossing the idea of just doing it ourselves if none are available in Canada.

Does anybody have any information about what is in Canada for this type of service?

Thnx a bunch !

I can't even think of one shop in Canada that does that kind of work. (I thought about a start up a few years back but reasoned that most Canadians were probably happy to take their trailer south). Not much help I know

Thnx for the replies !
Yes I also find it strange that none are to be found, I thought the dollar exchange would be a largest enough deterrent. Jeez the savings of having not to go south is in the 10's of thousands.
I'm considering starting my own restoration company on the island of the west coast.

I've used these guys before but I wouldn't say they are an airstream resto shop. http://lonepine-rv.com/wp/?page_id=7

Just buying parts and materials almost exclusively from the USA starts to add up real fast with shipping and brokerage too

Absolutely. Those costs can't be avoided. Anything "airstream specific" it's gonna be USD, I'm thinking more on the labour side. I just can't see spending $50k+ USD minimum for a basic Reno (when there really is nothing to it). Well at least that you can't learn or sub contract out.

Where are the expenses going to in these builds ?! I mean we talking about 200sqft of living space lol

Brian Gatschene at Trailer Centre in Dorchester, ON does restoration. Know beforehand that he is a one-man show, so it will take time. When I was there in May he was doing a complete reno of a Spartan Manor.
