Is the handle physically broken off or is it just inoperable? If the handle lifts but the door doesn't unlatch you have probably broken the roll pin that pulls the bolt back to open the door. It can be repaired.

Send a message via Skype™ to Melody Ranch
Check here...West Coast time. Both Greg and Andy are very helpful on how to get in and get a replacement lock.

Yes the handle is broken off. Only the pin is remaining and the pin itself is not attached at the top.

When my handle was broken, I too had no open windows. And dogs inside. I opened one of the exterior access compartments and crawled inside. I knew the compartment where my fuse panel would lead me to the bedroom. It was a bit tight but I made it. When I popped up through the bottom of the gaucho/bed, the pups went crazy. A new meaning to "prairie dogging".

Good luck - Laura

I got in....I surgically removed pieces of the cast aluminum with a zip disc on a grinder.
I will try and post pics. if you cut the bottom 5\8ths of an inch off just bellow the lock, you can you can operate the latch using a screw driver
