Broken bath air exhaust handle

2019 FC 26, the handle for the push-up, pull-down bathroom exhaust fan broke in half. Is this a replacement part, or a whole new unit? Warranty item?

That's the correct piece. Maybe your dealer will give you one if you ask, though technically not a warranty item (just a poorly executed product.)

Order two while you're at it to have a spare. Easy quick fix with two screws. I am careful and tell others to pull down on both sides of the handle, do not pull down from the middle (like's it's designed to do but it's a piece of junk).

Iíve replaced one. Terrible design. Best advice is to use 2 hands to pull it down - one on each end of the plastic bar. Good luck!

Temporary repair

Our shower ventís handle cracked but was still intact. You canít pull it down far enough to reach the screws so it will be a warranty repair next trip to the dealer.

That said, weíve got a trip to Colorado in August so I did a quick repair so itís usable. I found a strip of stainless steel at the local Ace Hardware and cut it to length.

I did superglue the crack then attached the metal strip to the handle with 10# double sided Gorilla tape. Unfortunately it cracked again and the spring in the steel started to pull away on the ends. Pop rivets to the rescue! Itís not pretty but is stronger than the plastic handle that it came with!

I broke one on my '89 in Texas and made up one out of oak that worked very nicely
Just broke the one on my '96...will be making up a new one also in oak. Just shaped a piece to fit the straps and screwed into the ends of the handle using same holes as the plastic mount.

When I looked for an upgrade option, I couldn't find anything available in the market.

I like to run my bathroom fan 24/7 to always ensure a fresh bathroom, but also to keep some circulation in the trailer to avoid condensation build-up at night. It's ridiculously loud to try to do that stock. And draws more amps than necessary.

Here's a homebrew solution. Why it didn't come stock like this, or as an option, I can't figure out. Would be less than a $2 OEM part. It works beautifully!

Mine were screaming also. When investigating I found that the expanded foam rubber seal had slipped down and was hitting the blades. When I removed the foam the sound became tolerable. But I have not come Up with a good solution to replace the foam rubber seal.

Mine broke too. I repaired it like mbubbaca did. Mine has been functioning fine now for 4 years.

You can remove the interior beauty ring/shroud via the 3 exposed screws on the perimeter. This will give you access to the two handle screws.

Hey, that's what I want to do! How is the speed controller wired into the fan? Can you draw a schematic?

My handle broke and I bought one when I was at airstream the other day. Didn't think to have Airstream service fix it. Oh well, the handle looks easy enough.
