Belly Bulge ...??

My rails are 4 inches wide...the black water tank I want to install is a tapered tank that goes from 4 to 6 inches over a 48 inch span, and and tapers 5 to 6 inches on the deep side... With the top side being flush to the floor. ( I am thinking this tank because of the capacity).

My idea is this...I can form the aluminum belly pan to conform around the little bulge. Plus with the new axle I gained a couple of 3 inches. Any negative thoughts on this before I go ahead and order? It is a side dump tank.

Thanks,

Belly Bulge ...??

This is the one I used. I made a metal box out of angle iron a sheet metal. All my tanks, black and 2 grays extend below the 4 in frame rails. I boxed them all in. Not an issue for me.

Thanks, that is sorta what I was thinking...as long as it looks good...it must be good...

I have to keep reminding myself...Renovation...Not Restoration...

My argosy trailer has a galvanized box that holds the tanks from factory. It extends below the frame rails about 2 inches.

islandtrader, for what it’s worth, a PO installed a tapered tank on our 66. The belly pan just followed the contour of the tank. It looked good. The problem was he had a belly pan splice with rivets around the center of the tank bottom. Through travel and vibration, a rivet tail wore a hole in the bottom of the tank. I repaired it, but it could have been prevented. I don’t think a protective pan is a bad idea. Just my two cents worth. Good luck on your project. Bubba

The 1st tank has it own discharge. The mid gray and the black tank drain just behind the black tank
